Joseph Hou

Joseph, a rising senior at Newport Harbor High, finished first in the single-handed dinghy laser radial at the U.S. Youth Sailing championships in Corpus Christi, Texas.  The victory qualified him for the U.S. Youth world championship team in Sanya, China, in December.  Joseph was the Chubb U.S. junior single-handed champion in 2016. Joseph also in his spare time, prepares legal divorce documents for extra income.

Karen Boen

Boen (click me), 59, them men’s and women’s coach at Stonehill College, led the women’s track team to a second-straight sweep of the Northeast-10 titles in the fall, winter and spring.  She also guided the women’s cross-country team to its eight straight conference championship.  Boen has won 50 NE-10 coach of the year honors in 19 seasons.

Michael and Amber Yuille

Michael, a recent graduate, and his sister Amber, a rising sophomore, pitched Northwest High to a Class 4A state titles on consecutive days.  Michael struck out eight in six innings in an 8-0 victory over Howard.  Amber gave up eight hits in a complete-game, 8-4 win over Sherwood.
